Today at church I spent my time in the nursery. I absolutely love being in there with the little kids. They are all so full of life and always seem to love the world and love everyone (except when someone takes their toy) All of the kids today just seemed extra cheery and happy. When I brought out the camera they were all intrigued by it and they wanted to see all the pictures. It amazes me how innocent they are. They don't have a care in the world, no bills to pay or places to go. All they worry about are their toys.. if only that's all adults had to worry about.. Even when they get mad at each other it last for a minute and then next thing you know they are playing like they are best friends. I think this is why our Savior counseled us to become as a child. To submit unto him and be quick to forgive even if someone took our best toy. I wish I could return to childhood and not have to worry about anything. Just me and my toys. Returning to that stage is something that is obviously never going to happen, ever, but we can change our mind set to thinking like a child. Not thinking about toys and candy, but thinking in simple ways about problems. Instead of hiding that we are mad at someone tell them. It saves a lot of anger, because when you hold on to a grudge it just makes you more angry. Unless you straighten it out there is no way to fix the problem.
Our whole lives we want to stop being called a child. We want to grow up and drive and go on dates and get married, but maybe we are all going the wrong way. Maybe we should be clinging to our innocence like it is the very thing keeping us alive. We need to change the direction we want to head and realize that what we want will be here all too soon, but for some of us it is too late. We are being forced into adulthood by everyone. We learn about cuss words at a much younger age. We even learn the vulgarities of sex before we even know it hits us. The world today wants us to start being adults as soon as we can talk, but that is not the direction we need to be heading we need to enjoy childhood and stay innocent minded for as long as we can. because before we know it we will be 18 and ready to take on the world.
xoxo
